welltel’s technology infrastructure is housed in 2 world-class data centres; Telecity (Citywest) and ServeCentric (Blanchardstown). Both centres are operated to the highest standards with dual power, dual network, air conditioning, strict security and diverse telecoms feeds. welltel maintain interconnects with a number of Tier 1 Providers in both centres.

welltel operate a multi-operator network where we contract ADSL, SDSL, Metro Ethernet, Licensed Wireless and Leased Lines from all the major ISPs in Ireland. We have interconnects in place so we can configure our tail circuits to send voice traffic on-net and not to route onto the public internet.

On-net routing allows us to ensure the Quality of Service all the way from the customer LAN to our switches. We also provide routers so that we have an IPSec VPNs to our customers’ premises. The VPNs provide complete security and allow us manage the service to our demarcation point. Depending on the service this could be to the handset, a gateway or a phone system. All configuration changes can then be made remotely from our network management centre.
